Morphe X Jaclyn Hill | The Vault

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill | The Vault

One collection that I had to have in my makeup stash was of course the Jaclyn Hill Vault with Morphe. Jaclyn released her Moprhe X Jaclyn Hill palette last summer and I absolutely fell in love with it, it’s always out on display on my vanity!! You can take a look at my thoughts on last years palette in this post HERE….What got me about her newest collection was the four single palette’s, I actually like the concept of them all being inside a Vault. In this post I have used some of Jaclyn’s promo photos which of course are credited to her and Morphe…

Let’s talk about the Drama….

When I first heard about this vault being released it was all over Instagram, of course Trendmood and FYI Beauty have all the up to date info on makeup releases. The collection was then revealed by Jaclyn on her you tube channel. Jaclyn talked about how the collection came together, why she chose to do another collection with Morphe, the names of the shades and the formulation. Jaclyn had some promo photos for this collection and her PR boxes were sent out in what looked like an actual vault…the design and packaging for the vault matched the packaging of the palettes too! I mean how gorgeous was that for a PR package, I would have died if I received something like that!

However when the PR collections were being received by beauty guru’s and influencers there was a lot of DRAMA and I mean A LOT! On youtube the collection was getting a lot of negativity and people were complaining about how patchy the shadows were and whether the vault was worth the money. With so many bad reviews Morphe and Jaclyn decided to call all the vaults back in and check the formulation before dispatching any new palettes. I know Jaclyn said in a recent video that all OLD palette’s were disposed of and new ones were made, there was a lot of speculation about that because people were saying how could they re-do so many palette’s in such little time. There was also a lot of complaints about the codes on the vaults for example V1, V2 etc..

Now of course THIS POST isn’t going to be about all the drama surrounding these palette’s it’s going to be showing you the swatches I did when I first got my hands on the Vault collection. Now I don’t know whether mine are old or new palette’s as I can’t remember what Jaclyn said the codes meant. What I do now is that they didn’t sell these palette’s on the initial release date, they pushed it back so they could sort the problems out. The original time that this vault was meant to come out was in June. The new release date changed to AUGUST 14TH and I managed to pick up the entire collection on the Morphe UK site for £49. The palette’s individually cost £15 so the whole collection has a £60 value…

Jaclyn’s Vault Collection

Anyways besides all that I absolutely love the look of the shades, the packaging and Jaclyn’s photoshoot for this collection was amazing. She looked absolutely fantastic and beaut as always!! 🙂 One difference I did notice about these palettes was that the names of the shades are printed on the inside, such a PLUS in my opinion. Each palette also has it’s each name and I adore them. The palette’s were also arranged into different colour stories and I love that!! Each palette has 10 shades and comes with a mirror which is a pretty good size. If you look closely on the outside of the palette there are little coloured stars that match the colour story of the palette too..

The Ring The Alarm Palette is full of warm toned shadows. I absolutely love the look of this one, it’s perfect for this time of year and screams Autumn to me!! As most of you know I am a huge lover of metallic and shimmer shadows. Now I know it’s best to use them in conjunction with matte’s but I would just rock it with a metallic if I could. The first swatches of the Ring The Alarm Palette are below for you…

Ok so from top to bottom the shades are Lollo, Rush, On Camera, Boom, Alert, Bomb Ass, Siren, Mugshot, Framed and Secret

The Bling Boss palette is full of mauve and purple toned shadows. When I first saw this one I fell in love as I love the colours of this palette. Purple and Mauve are also right on trend this season too.  I think this one has to be my most favourite palette in this collection. I have also included the swatches of the palette….

From top the bottom the shades are Bling Bling, Hush Hush, Gem, Pizzazz, Mystic, Sparks, Glitz & Glam, Rockstar, Ballsy and Berry Treasure

The Dark Magic Palette just reminds me of the Autumn and Winter season. Something about it is just so halloween and magical looking. I am loving the colour scheme of this one and the names, I love anything that relates to magic and wizardry so I can’t wait to out this palette on my eyes. Swatches for this palette are below loves…

From top to bottom the shade names are Poof, Powercut, Shhh, Trickery, Diversion, Potion, Busted, Inside Job, Mojo and Temptress

Lastly The Armed And Gorgeous palette is a mix of oranges, yellows and greens. I wasn’t as keen on this palette as the other 3 when I first saw it but it’s still beautiful none the less. However when I swatched it I changed my mind as this could be the perfect for summer as it’s full of golds and bronze shades. Swatches are below for you loves…

When I did these swatches I did notice some of them were a little patchy but that doesn’t bother me personally. I know some prefer to see what they look like on the eyes and I understand that. I didn’t complain about any of my palette’s as we all know I’m a HUGE eyeshadow junkie and swatching shadows is one of my favourite things to do for blog posts. If you look back through the swatches you can see where the shadows go patchy. I swatch left to right so the most pigment is of course going to be on the left hand side. Hope that rules out any worrying you may have about purchasing this vault because I would just ignore all the negativity and make your own decision…

I’m going to include Jaclyn’s reveal video for this collection as I can’t handle her excitement for this collection and yes I’m going to credit it to it’s rightful owner…take a look below if you haven’t already seen it…

Lastly I hope this post helps out some of you who have been speculating about picking this vault up. Yes I did hear all about the drama before I purchased the vault and to be honest I ignore a lot of it. I’m happy with this collection and will always support Jaclyn with her career….
