London Travel Makeup Bag

Hey lovelies…If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen we went to London quite recently. We went for the weekend to celebrate my mums birthday. We had a lovely time visiting Oxford Street, Knightsbridge, had some lovely food and of course visited the theatre. It’s become a tradition to visit London at this time of year. Beforehand I chose all the makeup I wanted to take with me and it was so hard. In the end I popped the products I love the most into my makeup bag. Here’s a roundup of some products I took and how I used it whilst we were away….enjoy xo

For my base  I kind of stick to the same foundation as I like the finish it gives me. i decided not to talk about the foundation in this post if you have read my other beauty posts you will know which one I mean. I like to mix up my concealer though. For this mini break I packed the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in the shade light. I absolutely love the coverage it gives and seen influencers talk about this on Instagram. I suffer with eye bags and I know makeup is not going to cover it 100% but this concealer has to be the best one I have used from the drugstore.  I like how this concealer also contains vitamins so perfect for making your skin look brighter and more awake. You only need the smallest amount though and then blend it in like you usually do. Healthy Mix retails for 8.99 if your looking for a new concealer guys…

When It comes to brushes I’m quite picky. When I like a certain brush I will stick to it for certain techniques. My most loved brushes include the eye blender and smudger brush from Charlotte Tilbury. They are a little costly but perform amazingly well. For example if your afraid to blend out eyeshadow the blender brush will do the job for you. You can also use the blender brush to apply cream eyeshadows too. I love the smudger brush especially  when it’s used below the bottom lashline as it’s great at making your look more smoked out than harsh looking..

Cream eyeshadows have to be one of my favourite makeup products. They are so easy to use and can be applied in seconds. I love the quality and pigmentation of the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise pots. The shade Jean is one of my favourites, it’s described as a champagne pink colour. You can wear these shades alone or what I do is sometimes use Jean as a base for other colours. It works so well due to it being a lighter colour. I find it blends so nicely with eyeshadows from other brands too. The eyes to mesmerise pots retail for £22.00 and are a lovely product to have in your makeup collection. I highly recommend them…

Another alternative to cream eyeshadows are eyeshadow sticks. Two of my favourite ones at the moment are Misty Rock from the brand By Terry and Charlotte Tilbury’s Bronzed Garnet. The shades are gorgeous especially for the festive season. You can wear these alone or blended with other shadows. I usually wear these alone especially if I only have 5 minutes for my makeup. I love wearing these on work days too as I don’t always have time to blend out 4 or 5 different eyeshadows if you get me. I love the convenience of these so if you travel a lot or your on the go these are ideal. Plus there perfect in your handbag or clutch bag too…

Lastly for a pop of shimmer on my eyes I have been reaching for the supershock shadows from Colourpop and the magnificent metals shadows from Stila. I love anything with a bit of sparkle on my eyes during the festive season. The supershock shadows are amazing trust me if there’s any shadows you need in your collection it’s these guys. They retail for $5 and the pigment is fantastic. Just a shame colourpop is based in america you would then have to pay for shipping and possibly customs too. In the long run there worth it in my opinion. Stila released liquid eyeshadows and just released their christmas sets. I love these and there are lots of shades to choose from. The liquid shadows retail for £23 here in the UK. I love the shade Kitten Karma and wore that when we visited the theatre. I absolutely loved how it looked and I definitely recommend these if your looking for a gift to give this christmas…

Are you guys travelling over the festive season? What makeup do you like the most at this time of year?…
