Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Palettes 2017

Does anyone else feel like January is the month to talk all about whats new in your makeup collection?? I know I do. Since I started blogging I can’t use my products until I’ve photographed them. For christmas I received the Naughty and Nice palettes from Kylie Cosmetics. Kylie released her christmas collection in November 2017. Here are my first thoughts on the 2 eyeshadow palettes…

When Kylie announced her christmas collection for the holidays on her snapchat I didn’t seem as excited for this collection as I did for last years. What distracted me from this collection was the colour scheme. I thought it was ok but not as gorgeous as the silver drips she had in the 2016 collection. I didn’t feel like it represented christmas as such. The colours were very similar to the Zoella Lifestyle Christmas products too. I was the same with that collection, very hesitant until I fell in love with the products more. I did see quite a few influencers on you tube receive the palettes so I took a look at their videos first. What eventually happened??..yep you guessed it I wanted the palettes.  They ended up on my christmas wishlist after I fell in love with the design, the packaging and the shades. The outer packaging feels so luxurious. It has a glitter effect. Im an eyeshadow palette junkie so I needed them in my collection…

The name of the collection is quite catchy too…Naughty and Nice. Reminds me of the song “Santa Claus is coming to town”. The collection included 2 eyeshadow palettes, one cosmetics bag, a specially packaged wet set palette, a velvet lip kit and 2 liquid lipstick sets called sugar and spice. You can buy these all separately or pick up the bundle. Kylie always does bundles with her collections so if you can afford to splurge a little bit that may be the option for you. The only other product in this collection that stands out to me is the cosmetics bag so I may pick one up at a later date..

Both the Naughty and Nice palettes retail for $44.00. In GBP that works out at about £32. The exchange rate goes up and down too. On her website international buyers only get free shipping if you order over $60.00. That’s quite good in my opinion because you could get yourself one of her eyeshadow palette’s and a lip kit too. Only thing is when you receive your products you get a custom fee too. I’ve never been lucky enough to not get a fee. So overall you end up spending more to get your products….

I have added photos and swatches of both palette’s in my post below. I was so excited to open and photograph them. Now I can start using them myself and see what they look like on the eyes…

Kylie Cosmetics Naughty Palette for holiday 2017

When you open the Naughty Palette the word Naughty has velvet material. It feels really high end too. I love the design of this one and the teal green is slowly growing on me. Inside the palette you get 14 eyeshadows, 9 are matte and 5 are metallic. I absolutely love metallic shades and the best metallics I have tried so far from Kylie was in her Burgundy Palette. I highly recommend that one. I love the colour selection in this palette too. Im really drawn to the metallic shades. Swatches of the Naughty Palette are in the photos below. All swatches are done on my arm without any primer or fixing spray. I did have to go into the shadows at least two to three times to get good colour pay off. What I did notice was that some of these shadows are extremely pigmented. I am in love with them already…

Row one from T-B include the shades Snowball, Jingle, Unwrap me, Snowflake, Merry mint, St Nick and Hot toddy

When I swatched these the shadows that stood out the most to me in this row are Unwrap me, Snowflake this one is stunning!! Reminds me of the silver shadow in the 2016 holiday palette. St Nick and Hot toddy. St Nick is a gorgeous shade, look how pigmented that is….

Row 2 from T-B include the shades Xmas kiss, Emerald, Ho ho ho, Coal, Mischief, Tipsy and Glazed

In the pan the shadows that stood out to me the most in this row were the shades Ho ho ho, Mischief and Glazed. Im all about metallic shades as you already know. When I did one swatch I wasn’t blown away so I went into the shadows two to three times. The swatches you see above are all the shades swatched 3 times. Again swatches don’t really show a true performance of the shadow. It’s how it looks on the eyes. I’m really impressed with the Emerald shade though and of course Ho ho ho and Mischief..

The following photos are Kylie’s Nice Palette. This is aimed for more daytime use I think. This is what a lot of influencers on youtube were saying about it. Again the Nice palette has velvet material on the outside and it looks like snow drops to me. The palette also has a silver and white design, very festive and reminds me of winter time…

Kylie Cosmetics Nice palette for holiday 2017

Inside the Nice palette again you get 14 eyeshadows, 8 are matte and 6 are metallic. Again I really like the colour selection in this palette. Obviously I was drawn more to the metallic shades. I have added swatches of the Nice palette below…

Row 1 from T-B include the shades Jack frost, Gumdrop, Holly, Ginger snap, Blizzard, Miracle and Wonderland

The two that stood out the most to me in this row were again the metallics, Gumdrop and Blizzard. When I swatched them 3 times over they didn’t really show up as good as I wanted them too. In the pan they look a lot more pigmented than on my arm. I’m going to see how they look on the eyes first before I can say what my final thoughts on them are. I can see why some say that this is more for daytime wear as the shades are very neutral. Wonderland is a gorgeous matte brown so perfect for the outer v if you want to darken up a look…

Row 2 from T-B include the shades Lullaby, Mulberry, Slay, Santa baby, Macaroon, Hot cider and Drummer boy

I am really impressed with this row to be honest. All shades swatched really nicely. I love the shades Mulberry and Drummer boy. You have some really nice transition shades in this row too, Lullaby, Santa baby and Macaroon are nice for a base…

I decided to add some you tube videos of this collection so you can take a look at what some influencers think. All video credits go to the rightful owner. I did not make any of the following clips. I’ve added some of my favourite videos below, subscribe if you want too…
