Comparison| UD Naked Heat VS PS Amber Palette

Urban Decay Naked Heat or Primark PS..Amber Palette?????

One year ago I added the Naked Heat Palette from Urban Decay to my collection. It is one of my favourite palettes to use to date. As you all know I am a huge fan of eyeshadow palettes and you can probably tell because my Instagram feed is full of them! Some of my favourite palettes are the warm toned ones and I must admit that I’m bound to have similar shades in other palettes too. I wanted to do some sort of “anniversary” post and compare another palette to that of the UD Naked Heat. The Primark PS Amber palette is known to be a Naked Heat “dupe”. I wanted to see if the shades are similar so I’ve put together this comparison post to help you decide which one you love best? high end or affordable/drugstore?….

Urban Decay Naked Heat

The Urban Decay Naked Heat palette was released in June of 2017. At this time quite a lot of brands had warm toned palettes in their lines. The Naked Heat was Urban Decays “take” on a summer palette. I was so excited to pick up this palette and I managed to grab one in August of last year. If you want to see a more in depth post about the Naked Heat palette and other products in the collection take a look HERE to see my first impressions…

I really like the packaging for the Naked Heat palette, the matchstick design with the flames fitted the name of the palette so well 😉 Obviously the flame print reflects the word “heat”. Heat resembles a fire so hence it being “hot”. Of course the palette then matches the “heat” of the summer, metaphorically speaking.  You get what I mean, it’s so hard to describe packaging haha…

I have also done some swatches of this palette again which I will insert below for you guys to take a look…

From T-B the 1st 6 shades in the Urban Decay Naked Heat

(Ounce, Chaser, Sauced, Low Blow, Lumbre and HeDevil)

From T-B the final 6 shades in the Urban Decay Naked Heat

(Dirtytalk, Scorched, Cayenne, EnFuego, Ashes and Ember)

Primark PS Amber Palette

I’m not sure when Primark released this palette. All I know is that it was definitely after Urban Decay released the Naked Heat. What I would like to say is that this is Primark’s “take” on a summer palette too but you can clearly see where they got their inspiration from or should I say what they were influenced from…

The Amber palette has a similar design, same tones, same print and a similar colour scheme with the shades. The Amber palette is stunning to look at as is the UD palette however the amber palette doesn’t have any shade names printed on it. What I did do was swatch this palette too so can see for yourself if there are any similarities with the shades. I’m also going to write a short description below to see if any of the shades do resemble one another. I’ve inserted swatches of the PS Amber Palette below…

From T-B of this photo the shades are from the PS Amber palette. The 2 shades at the top are  the shades going L-R of the palette

From T-B the last 4 shades of the PS Amber palette

Are there any similarities????

The 1st thing I notice is that the first two shades in the UD Naked Heat palette are very light muted tones, possibly best for transition shades. The 1st two shades in the PS Amber palette are very WHITE and have a bit of a glitter look to them. You can definitely see the difference in all four of these shades though…

The “beige/brown” matte shades in the UD Naked Palette are very similar to the matte shades in the PS Amber Palette. However when swatched some of the mattes from the primark palette appear brighter and look very “peachy” toned to me..

Lastly what I did find to be quite a good match were the metallics in the primark palette, they got the shades quite close to the metallics in the UD palette. They also swatched amazingly well too and felt so creamy. For an affordable palette the primark one is good if you don’t want to break the bank. If your feeling it’s worth a splurge then I definitely recommend the UD Naked Heat..the pigment in this one is so good…

Have you tried the Urban Decay Naked Heat if so what are your thoughts?

Do you own both of these palette’s, do you see any similarities?
