Beauty Favourites Of 2017

Happy New Year Everyone….Welcome To 2018

Hello lovelies…..couldn’t start off 2018 without talking about my beauty favourites of 2017. I absolutely love reading these kind of posts. Their my favourite by far. It took me a while to decide what I have loved this year, I’m not gonna lie there have been some amazing product releases recently. Some may have been gifted, some may have been out a while and some I may have discovered this year for the first time. Here are my thoughts on some of my best beauty finds of the past year…xo

Pixi Beauty have always been a brand I have wanted to try. Their skincare and makeup items have ended up on my wishlist for 2018.  I have to be honest I don’t own a lot of Pixi beauty products but from the ones I have I had to pick this little beaut. Their Glow Booster has made it’s way into my everyday makeup routine especially when your skin is looking a bit dull. I love applying this in the morning it gives me the glow that I need at 6am when all you want is coffee. I am loving this product right now, it wakes my skin up ready for the day ahead…

I am always on the lookout for a concealer that will not only cover imperfections, under eye bags and blemishes but brightens at the same time. Is that a lot to ask for in one product??…I guess not 😉 I was so so happy to discover theBourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. This product is a lifesaver. I use the shade light and and I love it. Definitely an everyday product for me, highly recommend this one…

When it comes to setting my face I always used to use a compact. Back in the day it was Maxfactors creme puff powder. I used to swear by this. Now I look back and think I have learnt so much more than just applying a powder straight over concealer. This year I did a little research into loose powders and how they were used. I wanted to pick up one that would blue out any imperfections and give me a smooth and flawless base. Now there not going to get rid of any eye bags I’m afraid to say that’s just how my face is but they help me feel confident in myself. I discovered Laura Mercier’s Loose Setting Powder and I am in love. It’s a little pricey but it’s amazing for my skin. You can use this to “bake” with or more simply set the face. I apply it with a beauty blender and I love the finish it gives. I then apply a finishing powder over the top and the difference is amazing…

Everyone knows how much of an eyeshadow palette junkie I am. I did pick up quite a few palette’s this year but I also rediscovered old favourites too. Charlotte Tilbury’s Dolce Vita Palette was one of the first palette’s I bought from her line. This palette is absolutely beautiful. As you can see mine has been well and truly loved. The pigmentation, quality and shades are fantastic. It may well be on the pricey side of things but if you don’t have this palette in your life you need too..

During the summer youtube influencers Desi Perkins and Lustre Lux(Katy) collaborated with Dose Of Colours. In august I managed to get my hands on their 4 pan eyeshadow palette. The outer packaging is so luxurious and really girly too. The pigment of the shades are stunning. They look so lovely on the eyes too. Very eye catching. You definitely need to use another palette with it though if you want to use a matte as a base…

One of my favourite products from 2017 has to be the Prism palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I adore her products. Prism was out for the holidays and this was gifted to me!! The shades are stunning, the quality is amazing, the shadows also blend really well together too. I am not a makeup artist but using this palette you can can create some stunning looks with minimal skill..

I am a huge fan of highlighters. Ever since I learnt how to highlight they have become a major item to have in my makeup collection. If you prefer a matte look thats cool but I always have to have highlighter on. I also feel it gives a bit more oomph to your look. Nicole Guerriero collaborated with ABH and designed the most prettiest and versatile palette for 2017. How stunning is the palette though, it’s a pastel pink with 6 highlighters in. I took this away with me when we travelled to Italy. The palette is stunning, quality is amazing too..

Another highlighter favourite from the past year has to be the loose highlighters from Kylie Cosmetics. Everyone went crazy for these when she released them in her take me on vacation collection.  The pigment is CRAZY!! I picked up the shades Tahiti and Fiji. You only need to use the slightest amount too, it looks so beautiful on the skin…

Earlier on in 2017 I found out Charlotte Tilbury was restocking her famous “Bar Of Gold” highlighter. I wanted this for such a long time and it was out of stock for months. I think it came out again in January of 2017 and I was straight on it. I ordered one and never looked back. This product is absolutely INSANE!! The glow is amazing and you can use it as an eyeshadow topper too, especially with the pop shades from her palette’s..little tip 🙂

This wouldn’t be a favourites post without a little bit of glitter. Over the festive season I had been loving the glitter liners from Tanya Burr Cosmetics. I am obsessed with the gold shade. I don’t use it as a liner. I had been placing this over a eyeshadow for a pop of sparkle. It looks so so nice guys, definitely try it if you haven’t already…

Another firm favourite recently has to be Tanya’s Selfie Lash mascara. I won this in a Instagram competition and I was so shocked when it arrived it in the mail. I am so so fussy when it comes to mascara’s so if I love this that’s saying something. It’s inexpensive, does the job and is perfect for everyday wear…

Too Faced also have a huge place in my heart too. I adore their brand and had the Better Than Sex mascara on my wishlist for ages. I have so many miniatures of these now. When I’m looking for a bit more volume with my lashes this is my go to. The packaging is so pretty too…

Every beauty junkie knows it’s a lip product that is applied last. I have a huge collection of lip products so narrowing it down to a fair few was so hard to do. I think I am happy with the choices I made though. Charlotte Tilbury’s Glastonberry, Nars lipstick in Raquel, Tanya Burr’s Strawberry Milkshake lip balm and Dose of Colours No shade have all been favourites of mine throughout the year. Raquel and No shade are both nude shades. I am a huge fan of nude lip colours. These two have to be my most used. Glastonberry is my go too on nights out, it’s just stunning 🙂

I have lots of perfumes, ones for everyday wear, ones for occasions, ones for nights out etc: But when your like me and work so early in the morning you don’t have time to decide which perfume your going to use that day. I have a few displayed on my vanity and reaching for Zoella’s Blissful Mistful and Snowella scents has been a habit of mine. Their great for your handbag and smell amazing too. Who wants to carry a huge perfume bottle for 12 hours a day, not me so these are fab when you want a little spritz during the day…

I love a good pamper before bed and Lush have to be one of the best brands I discovered in 2017. Their Sleepy Body Lotion has sent me off to sleep so quickly. I love to use this to get a good night’s sleep and over the winter it’s been amazing…

What have been your favourite beauty products in 2017??
